Los Altos Police Invites Community to First Public Safety Open House on April 29

Los Altos, Calif. — April 1, 2023 — Los Altos community members are invited to meet the women and men of the Los Altos Police Department during its inaugural open house on Saturday, April 29, from 11 AM – 2 PM. The event will take place at the Los Altos Civic Center in the parking lot between the Police Department and City Hall. It is free and open to the public and their dogs. No registration is required. 

Community members will have the opportunity to meet and connect with Police Department personnel, from officers to professional staff. The Open House will include tours of the Police Department building, a display of emergency vehicles (both current and vintage), and showcases of specific units within the department (SWAT, Traffic, K-9, and Investigations). The event also includes food and refreshments, a bike rodeo, and a kids’ zone, complete with the Santa Clara County mobile library (Go Go Biblio), face painting, crafts, and donut decorating. 

Police will also be joined by members of the Santa Clara County Fire Department, Palo Alto Animal Control, and Pets In Need, as well as emergency preparedness community groups.  

Limited parking is available at the Los Altos Community Center.
