Bicyclist in Critical Condition; Los Altos Police Seek Public's Help in Hit-and-Run

Los Altos, Calif. — January 9, 2023 — On Saturday, January 7, at approximately 11:33 PM, a felony hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist occurred near the intersection of N. San Antonio Road and Yerba Buena Avenue. The bicyclist was transported to a local trauma center and underwent emergency surgery. The 42-year-old male victim is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

A preliminary investigation from officers revealed the unknown suspect vehicle was traveling northbound in the 300 block of N. San Antonio Road and struck the bicyclist also traveling northbound on N. San Antonio Road. The suspect vehicle continued driving northbound, fleeing the scene.

Officers have determined the suspect vehicle to be possibly silver or a similar color. The Los Altos Police Department is seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed this collision or may have seen the bicyclist in the area prior to the collision.
