The Portola Avenue Sidewalk Project 11-19 has been approved by City Council and is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of June 16, 2014. The project is anticipated to be complete by August 2014.
This project will include new sidewalk, curb and gutter on the south side of W. Portola Avenue between the Egan School driveway entrance and Westminster Lane. This new stretch of sidewalk will connect the existing sidewalk at each end of this section.
Project Community Impact
Contractors will be placing barricades out with notification of the work as well as issuing door hangers to the immediate residents 48-hours prior to the start of work. Temporary “NO PARKING” signs will be posted on barricades at least 48-hours in advance when it is necessary to have the street cleared of all vehicles.
Two-way traffic flow will be maintained throughout the project; however, drivers should expect some delays during work hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday to Friday.
In the event weather conditions cause postponement, the pavement work will be rescheduled when the weather allows the work to proceed and signs will be reposted. Any vehicles parked in violation of these signs will be towed, at owner’s expense, in order to accomplish the work.
