Los Altos Recreation Offers Outdoor Programming for Fall Season

Los Altos, Calif. – September 10, 2020 – The City of Los Altos is delighted to offer fall Recreation programming to the Los Altos community.

After thoroughly re-evaluating the current situation, the Recreation Department is eager to resume in-person outdoor classes while hosting various virtual options for the fall season. Registration begins, September 14, with sessions starting September 21 through December 12, 2020. The registration period also includes the holiday season, which runs from December 21-23 and 28-31, and January 4-8.

"Our department has worked diligently to ensure all fall programming meets the county's health standards," said Donna Legge, Director of Recreation and Community Services. "While this is not a full return to in-person programming, we believe it's a firm starting point to achieving a sense of normalcy."

The fall season will include various sports, music, and arts-related programs and classes for youth hosted by external organizations and instructors. At this time, there will be no in-person classes for seniors. Instead, the Adult 50+ program will continue to offer numerous virtual, engaging experiences. If county or state guidance becomes more stringent, Recreation staff will notify residents of program changes accordingly.
