Transportation Enhancements

This project will fund various traffic engineering studies, provide the local match for grant-funded projects and provide minor traffic calming improvements or school commute improvements on various streets being evaluated for improved traffic, bicycle and pedestrian transit enhancement. Work on this project may include deployment of traffic volume and speed counters, level of service analysis, recording pedestrian or bicycle counts, evaluating turning movements, preparing trip origin and destination studies, developing signal timing modifications and preparation of supporting material for grant applications. This project also could provide funding for minor traffic calming studies and improvements as directed by Council.

This project funded the preliminary engineering of safety improvements on Carmel Terrace; public outreach is ongoing. The public outreach may result in a pedestrian/bicycle improvement project at this location which will require a separate funding request at a later time.
