The Miramonte/Covington Pedestrian Improvement project includes pedestrian improvements at all four corners of the intersection at Miramonte Avenue and Covington Road. In order to improve pedestrian safety, pedestrian refuge curb returns will be constructed along with new and refreshed crosswalks.

Anticipated Community Impacts

In order to minimize traffic impacts during heavy commute hours, work hours for this project will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additionally, the project will be phased so that improvements are completed on the north side of the intersection before work commences on the south side.

Tentative work schedule:

  • Preliminary site work will begin on September 28
  • North side improvements are scheduled for October 19 – November 6
  • South side improvements are scheduled for November 9 – December 4

Status Updates

Wednesday, October 28, 2015 Update: The Miramonte/Covington Pedestrian Improvement project is ahead of schedule. Contractors will complete the north side improvements on Friday, October 30, 2015. South side improvements will begin on Monday, November 2, 2015 and are anticipated to be complete by Monday, November 23, 2015.
