The First Street Streetscape project is nearly complete. Remaining work to be completed include final punch-list items and concrete inspection/repair. The City of Los Altos approved Redgwick Construction, Inc. to begin construction on the First Street Streetscape Project Phase 1B on Monday, April 29, 2013. The project boundaries are located on First Street between State Street and Shasta Street. The goal of this project is to update infrastructure while improving public access, pedestrian safety and invigorating the downtown area. This Project will improve a number of key areas along this stretch of First Street including:
The majority of construction work on this project is complete. Final finishing touches will be completed through October.

With the exception of a few small punch-list items, the First Street Streetscape Project is now complete.
The construction laydown area in Plaza North has been removed, freeing up the parking spots that had been impacted. The driveways are now clear of steel plates that were set out last week after some concrete repairs were made. All site furnishings have been successfully installed along with new street lights, landscaping and irrigation.
