Roadway striping and markers throughout the City need to be refreshed on a regular basis. Visibility of pavement markings is important to prevent traffic accidents and improve clarity for all roadway users. This project will refresh and upgrade City streets with thermoplastic pavement striping each year as needed.
Thermoplastic lasts for approximately seven to eight years. This project allows the City to complete a striping cycle on an eight-year basis in accordance with requirements and to maintain acceptable conditions.
Status Updates
Annual Street Striping project for 2021 will implement the following improvements. Striping plan is made available in the files section toward the bottom of this page.
- Almond Avenue (between San Antonio Road and El Monte Avenue):
- Implement cycle track (two-way bike lane) on the north side of Almond Avenue between San Antonio Road and N Gordon Way.
- Green bike lane treatments.
- Roadway signage.
- Covington Road: (between El Monte Avenue and Covington Elementary School):
- Green bike lane treatments and signage improvement.
- Homestead Road: (intersection at Grant Road and Foothill Expressway):
- New STOP sign and refresh existing markings.
- Green bicycle facility.
