The City will be making regular updates to this webpage in order to keep the community informed of development projects and other events impacting traffic and parking in the downtown area. Please read on for a summary of upcoming projects including dates and areas that will be impacted. All dates are tentative and subject to change due to poor weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Monday, October 27 - Thursday, October 30
Portions of southbound First Street between State Street and Main Street will be closed intermittently between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The closures will allow for right-of-way improvements to be completed in front of the 400 Main Street development. Northbound traffic and Plaza Central will remain open throughout the construction period.
Wednesday, October 29 - Thursday, October 30
CalWater will be performing work on S. San Antonio Road between Main Street and the Main Library in order to upgrade water service at 1 Main Street. There will be alternating lane closures on southbound S. San Antonio Road, however, through traffic will be maintained at all times. Work in the roadway is permitted to take place between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 30
Nexgen Builders have been granted an encroachment permit for 20 parking stalls in Plaza North (behind State Street and between Second and Third Streets) in order to complete a large concrete pour at the 86 Third Street project. 'No Parking' signs will be posted on the impacted parking stalls 48 hours in advance.
SPECIAL EVENT: Friday, October 31
Second Street will be closed between State Street and Plaza Central from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the Los Altos Village Association Halloween Spooktacular.
Saturday, November 1 & Saturday, November 8
First Street will be closed between W Edith Avenue and Shasta Street from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow for a large crane to be onsite as well as other paving activities to occur. Motorists are encouraged to use Second Street as an alternative.
