Sewer Service Charge Public Hearing

The City Council and the City of Los Altos are currently considering revising the City's annual Sewer Service Charge for each of the next five years to introduce an annual base charge and to reduce the charge per unit of estimated sewer use. Capital Improvement Program Projects Currently Under Construction
Citizens Working Group for Stevens Creek Trail Joint Cities Feasibility Study Invitation for Supplemental Applications
Interested parties are invited to apply for a Citizens Working Group to assist agency staff a consultant team, and policy representatives in preparing a feasibility study of trail development in the Stevens Creek Corridor with the intent of connecting completed or planned trail segments in Cupertino and Mountain View. Cities are looking to augment current membership with one additional member from each effected city. Deadline to apply is June 7, 2013 by 5 p.m. For more information and application, click here.
Stevents Creek Trail Joint Feasibility Study
The City of Los Altos is participating in the Stevens Creek Trail Joint Cities Feasibility Study along with Mountain View, Cupertino and Sunnyvale. The study seeks to determine feasible and preferred alternatives to complete a multi-use trail in the Stevens Creek corridor running from Mountain View to Cupertino. SFMOMA is coming to Los Altos
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art will bring a host of contemporary artists
to town this November as part of Project Los Altos: SFMOMA in Silicon Valley. This exhibit
was organized by SFMOMA in collaboration with the City of Los Altos and Passerelle Investment
Co. Project Los Altos will consist of an exhibition sited throughout the downtown commercial
core of Los Altos with artworks on display at indoor and outdoor locations. To learn more about

Los Altos Reusable Bag Ordinance in Effect July 4, 2013
In March 2013, the Los Altos City Council adopted a Reusable Bag Ordinance prohibiting the distribution of single-use carry out bags and requiring a
minimum charge for the distribution of reusable or recyclable bags. The Ordinance will go into effect on July 4, 2013. For more information

Caltrans 82 Clark Avenue El Camino Real Project
On February 13, 2013 Caltrans will begin to install new signals and upgrade wheelchair ramps in the City of Mountain View at the intersection of Clark Avenue and El Camino Real. Construction will take place during evening hours Monday through Friday. For more information about the project,

City Council Approves Wayfinding Sign Draft
City Council has approved the draft of a Wayfinding Sign Concept presented at the January 8, 2013 City Council Meeting. The City will now gather cost estimates to determine the next steps for the project. For more information, please click here.
San Antonio Streetscape Construction Underway
The City of Los Altos has begun construction on the San Antonio Road Streetscape Project. Construction will impact the section of San Antonio Road between West Edith Avenue and First Street.

City Earns Clean Bay Business 20 Year Award
The City of Los Altos has earned recognition as a Clean Bay Business for 2012 by the Regional Water Quality Control Plant for the 20th year in a row. The award recognizes the City's efforts to keep pollutants out of creeks and the Bay.
100 First Street Development Underway
The former Post Office site at 100 First Street has been demolished and construction of a new residential building with 48 condominium units will soon be underway.

The Street Sweeping Routes have been revised so that street sweeping follows our new solid waste contractor's schedule. This will allow residents to remove their garbage and recycling containers out of the street as the sweeper will be out the following business day. For Route map and Schedule go - here
