City of Los Altos Finance Department

Finance and Technology provides fiscal and information technology support services to all City departments.

Finance manages the development and analysis of the budget, year-end financial statements, annual audits, accounts payable, revenue collection, payroll reporting, business licensing and other day-to-day financial transactions. The Division also oversees the investment of City funds and provides the strategic planning necessary to preserve the City's superior credit rating and safeguard City assets.

Information Technology supports key management reporting systems and is responsible for developing a long term technology plan for the City with a focus on mission critical applications.

Both Finance and Information Technology are guided by a common mission statement geared to emphasize informational transparency and premiere customer service. The acronym "FIT" works nicely in describing this function as its mission is to keep the organization fiscally fit and technologically nimble.
