Green Building

Los Altos was one of the first cities to adopt comprehensive Green Building regulations in December of 2007. The 2013 California Green Building Standards Code embodied additions and alterations to existing buildings as well as new structures.

The State's uniform and standardized approach is mandated throughout the State of California. Los Altos is supportive of a statewide approach to green construction and adopted the California Green Building Standards Code with minor amendments effective January 1, 2014.
