PG&E Construction Project in South Los Altos Nov. 17 - 19

PG&E crews will be working to extend the height of two electric transmission towers in south Los Altos in order to provide more clearance between the transmission wires and the ground.

One of the towers is located in the public right-of-way at the intersection of Fallen Leaf Lane, two blocks north of Homestead Road. The other tower is located in a PG&E easement adjacent to Stevens Creek off Holt Avenue.

As part of this work, you may see crews using a crane to lift an extension piece to the top or mid-section of an existing transmission tower, where crews will then install it and rewire the power lines. While crews add an extension piece to the tower, the lines will be de-energized; however, the electric service to the residents should not be interrupted during construction.

Timeline

The work is projected to start on November 17, 2013 and be completed on November 19, 2013, weather permitting.
