Civic Center Master Plan Design Charette

The City of Los Altos recently partnered with the American Institute of Architects Santa Clara Valley (AIASCV) to host a day-long, collaborative design event. The event took place on Saturday, October 25, 2014 and was planned as part of the City of Los Altos Community Center Conceptual Design & Civic Center Master Plan Update, led by Anderson Brulé Architects.

Enlisting the creative design input of volunteer AIASCV members, conceptual designs for the Civic Center site were developed and will be used to further guide and inspire future design work for the City’s redevelopment of Hillview Park and Community Center.

AIASCV members worked in teams to develop design layouts that took into consideration community background, site analysis and programmatic requirements. The resulting designs were then presented to the community in order to gather feedback and spark discussion. Photos of the conceptual designs can be found below, along with a graphic recording of the event that captured comments and feedback gathered from the public during the event.
